Churches Spent $514 Million on Projection Equipment in 2006

ODESSA, Fla. --TFCinfo recently released findings from their research on the use of projectors in North American churches.
In this research, TFCinfo conducted extensive market size, market segmentation, spending and forecast analysis, as well as a sophisticated end-user survey.
For more than four years, TFCinfo has immersed themselves into the church market to assist manufacturers, dealers and integrators in better understanding this fast growing market segment. TFCinfo’s latest report, entitled TFCinfo: The Use of Projectors in North American Churches 2007, addresses this significant market -- and with more than 365,000 churches in North America it is clear to see that the potential for installed AV systems is huge.
“There's currently little existing information on church market segmentation, and the work in this report may be the first detailed church segmentation analysis,” states Tanya Lippke, manager of survey market research for TFCinfo. “What's also exciting is that for the first time, we have been able to include the portable churches in our market estimates. Portable churches are churches that don't have a permanent church facility, but instead rent or use other facilities. These churches are users of AV gear, but because they have no permanent facility, the numbers and attendance of portable churches are mostly unrecorded, until now.”
The survey portion of this research is based on 900 respondents, all of whom were responsible for the AV equipment at their place of worship.
In this report, TFCinfo not only analyzes the church market as a whole, but goes beyond to break the sample into various demographic groups. Research results are provided in total, by church size (# of seats), and geographic location (Northeast, South, West, and Midwest). This allows companies to compare and contrast the preferences and purchasing of churches of varying sizes and in varying locations across the United States.
The report was produced in conjunction with Church Production.
